Intelligent Search Technology provides Teradata® Warehouse with Advanced Identity Search Functionality

Customers are able to soft match fields from multiple data sources

WHITE PLAINS, New York – Intelligent Search Technology (IST) Ltd., the leader in high performance, multicultural identity search and matching software, has certified its advanced searching and matching technology with the Teradata® Warehouse.

The solution brings together IST’s power in soft matching technology with the enterprise data warehouse (EDW) leadership of Teradata, a division of NCR Corporation to provide joint customers with a unique corporate-wide searching solution. The solution will provide businesses with the ability to quickly and effectively search terabytes of data and match records, from multiple systems, using personal names, corporate names, addresses, social security, phone account numbers, and other identifying information regardless of data variation, discrepancies and noise characters.

The sophisticated match engine intelligently ranks, scores and eliminates unlikely candidates, reducing both computationally intensive tasks and minimizing expensive input/output operations. To overcome name variations caused by phonetics, transcription, keyboarding errors, nicknames, short forms, missing words, extra words, noise characters and sequencing differences IST’s NameSearch® employs a multi step process to produce a key. At the conclusion of the process, a key, or a set of keys is returned along with a probability ranking.

“This new solution has enabled the State of Iowa to bring in new data sources for comparison. Utilizing these data sources could not have easily been completed before. This is because the new source no longer needs a Column ID (such as an SSN, FEIN, or other identifying number) for comparison,” said Rhonda Kirkpatrick, executive officer, Iowa Department of Revenue. “Now we can bring in data and soft match the multiple sources using name, address, or really any other field that might logically make sense to match against. Previously, this was a manual intensive task, taking weeks to complete.”
