Introducing NameSearch® Version 4.2
White Plains, NY, June 1st, 2006 - Intelligent Search
Technology, Ltd. announces the availability of NameSearch® version
4.2. The release includes enhancements from earlier versions
that include a new SQL Scripter for DB2, SQL Scripter Data Enhancement
capabilities, batch comparison functionality, a join-words feature, rule
expansion, and updated API’s. As with earlier versions, NameSearch
version 4.2 is available for Microsoft® Windows®, Linux®,
UNIX®, AS/400 (ISeries, System i) and z/OS.
Building on the success of its earlier versions, the new
release features a number of enhancements that make the product
more powerful than ever before:
1. SQL Scripter for DB2 – Previously available
for Oracle and SQL Server, NameSearch clients can now easily create
customized stored procedures and database triggers for DB2 utilizing
the NameSearch database API functions.
2. SQL Scripter Data Enrichment capabilities - Used for
appending additional information such as corrected addresses, Geocoding
and gender-coding data, and OFAC compliance screening results. (Available
to clients who have licensed ISTwatch® or CorrectAddress®.)
3. Batch comparison functionality - This enables one-to-many
comparisons. The batch comparison algorithm enables matching of one-to-many
records within one function call. Database applications utilizing NameSearch
within the database environment will experience performance benefits
due to the reduced number of function calls to the external link libraries.
4. Built-in caching - This aids in faster comparison and
overall better performance.
5. Ability to use preprocessed data from NameSearch’s Sanitization,
Word Recognition and Phonetic Tokenization phases as input to the Comparison
routines - Certain key-building output parameters may be passed as input
to the Comparison routines. These parameters include the sanitized string,
word and phonetic stacks. Passing these parameters to the Comparison
routine will reduce the amount of processing that is normally done during
the Comparison phase.
6. Exact-match definition type - This definition type can be accepted by the
multi-field
comparison routine.
7. Intelligent street parsing functionality - This determines the components
of
a street address. Applications using NameSearch to search for addresses will
benefit from the improved quality that this feature offers. With this functionality
in place, NameSearch can intelligently determine separate components of the street
address even in cases where the addresses are badly misspelled, abbreviated or
presented in different order.
8. Join-words option - This can be used to overcome differences between split
and
joined word inputs (e.g. “green house” vs. “greenhouse”.)
9. Single-pass rulebase examination - Previous versions of NameSearch used a
multi-pass approach, where the input was standardized using multiple rule replacements
(e.g.
HUAN ? JOHN ? JONATHAN.) NameSearch 4.2 removes this requirement, by expanding
and finalizing the rules during the build phase.
10. Enhanced address rulebase
11. Updated APIs:
a. New SQL Server 2005 SDK using CLR
b. Improved performance of JNI classes due to more efficient parameter
processing.
