White Plains, NY Jan. 19, 2011 — Intelligent Search Technology (IST), a QAS company and part of Experian Marketing Services, has successfully SERP-certified its CorrectAddress® product with Canada Post to provide address verification against the latest and most accurate postal database available – the Point of Call (PoC) Address Data product, which became available to certified vendors this month.
PoC data allows Canada Post to enable faster, more efficient processing and sorting of mail, resulting in reduced costs, improved operations and more accurate address databases. Mailers using SERP-certified products with PoC data processing are expected to see significant reduction in the amounts of undeliverable and returned mail.
Whereas the traditional Postal Code Address Data (PCAD) uses a series of ranges defined by Postal Codes, PoC data contains specific addresses within Postal Codes that can receive mail. This additional level of granularity makes PoC data a more accurate address cleansing database for processing Canadian addresses.
New Canada Post address accuracy requirements take effect on Jan. 17, 2011, and only a handful of products, including CorrectAddress®, have thus far qualified for SERP-certified status.
CorrectAddress® with new PoC data will be supported on all 32- and 64-bit versions of Windows, Linus, AIX, Solaris, and HP-US, as well as other UNIX-based systems.
